Group Achievements:
- In
Colchester, the Garden Club, “The Green Thumbs” has been meeting weekly to plan, plant and maintain our gardens. This year we will have tomatoes and flowers on the deck and a root vegetable garden in the front of the building. Many thanks to volunteers at Key Bank for building a raised garden bed that has made it possible for our participants to maintain a garden on their own!
- In
Rutland , a Bone Builders exercise and prevention program started in May and worked up to 6 repetitions for each strength building exercise with weights.
Recent Events
- In
Colchester, participants and staff both have been enjoying entertainment at the PACE center. In May we had a “Harps and Hammers” performance, featuring hammered dulcimers, harps and keyboard playing. In June we had a visit from the Great, a magician with quite a “bag of tricks”!
- The spring and summer months will bring with them many festivities. The
Colchester site will be celebrating the start of summer with a deck party and the Fourth of July with a barbeque. Cooking projects, craft projects and gardening projects all are focused on the summer.
- New groups and activities are in the works in
Colchester . Stay tuned for the following: PACE Passport Program, a new PACErs Destination, a current events discussion group, a book club and much, much more! For more information about any of these programs, please see
Kate Ruesch , Activity Coordinator.
- A Bell Ringers Group gave a concert at the
Rutland
Center in April. On World Dance Day April 29th we held a dance-a-thon and winners received a prize. In May a speaker from the Rutland Historical Society came and spoke about the history of the
Rutland
High School . Some of our participants attended the school and found it very interesting.
