Happy Birthday, PACE!

On April 1, 2008, PACE Vermont celebrated its one year anniversary of being open in Colchester!

We would like to take this opportunity to highlight some of the accomplishments of our first year:

We enrolled a total of 27 people between April 1, 2007 and March 1, 2008.  This is close to our target of 28 enrollees.

Our center-based staff has grown to include 3 LNAs, 1 PCA, Medical Records staff and a Transportation Coordinator.  We have increased time for Social Work and Physical Therapy, and we are also looking to increase time for Occupational Therapy.  Please join us in continuing to  welcome new staff as we grow!

Our network of providers has grown so that we can now offer better service with Durable Medical Equipment, in-home caregivers, respite and housing needs, and specialists.

PACE has served the community by hosting Medical residents and students studying Physical Therapy, Nutrition, and Nursing.  Thank you to those participants who have allowed these residents and students to work with you!
Finally, we started an auto-refill system for our pharmacy to ensure you get your medications on time.

We would also like you to look out for some exciting changes in the coming months:

     We will be officially launching a volunteer program this spring!

     You may notice that we have been using more and more of the space in ourColchester building for activities and programs.  We
     are currently preparing the second floor to be used as additional activity space.  We hope to have this space open in early summer.

In addition, PACE Vermont opened its Rutland site in February 2008.  That site is located at the Maples Senior Living Community on General Wing Road.  It serves all of Rutland County as well as the towns of Dorset, Rupert, and Manchester.  Stop in and say hello if you are in the area! 

Join us in Rutland on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 for our Grand Opening and Dedication of the Rutland Center.  5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
